La vie est dure/ Life is hard

I youtubed this song for the sake of the title and I cracked myself laughing towards the end of the song. :D If you don't get what I'm laughing about, listen from 3 minutes and you'll see then. ^___^

Anais - La Vie est Dure

Life is hard, but life is funny and full of surprises.

There, where I was born...

Today was busy... but after the work was done, I had the church to myself for a couple of hours and I listened to music on Kat's laptop. I put Camille on and was again reminded of how much I love this song.

Camille - La ou je suis nee

When I first heard it, I thought I'd found a treasure. I had ripped a Camille CD and put it on my MP3 player and this song came up on random. I hadn't heard it before (because obviously I hadn't listened to the CD all the way through) and thought I'd found a hidden track. lol :) I felt as if I were being given a glimpse into something secret - something light and gentle, another beautiful song.

Winter song in Summer

Hi again.

I went into work today and set up the preschool room. We're not having a pupil free day on the first day back and I couldn't imagine trying to get everything up and ready Monday morning with the additional strain of Charlotte (room leader) not being there for the first week. So I was there from 10.30am to 5.30pm and I was busy the whole time, if you can believe that. A lot was done. It's good knowing that next week will be a little smoother.

A friend online posted this song/video on their facebook profile and I also want to share it. It's girly and pretty but beautiful all the same.

Piano playing is going nicely... I've had three days playing on the baby grand at church. It's such a blessing to have something to play on. I know before I had access to the upright pianos, but they didn't call out to me "play me" like this one does. I think I will learn a few hymns... I enjoy playing/singing by myself in church. I think it would be something to sing/play for God in church for Him alone. :)

My computer is better now also. Jason came over and it had fixed itself. :P So no reformatting necessary, but Jason managed to fix my sound... so now I have a working second speaker and a working bass. ^_^ He even fiddled with the equalisers to create a nice full, rich sound. He stayed for dinner and Kat cooked up some chicken... it was nice. We had bread and butter pudding for dessert. :D I was so full afterwards.

Anyhow. Be back with more music later.

Silly new music about cats~

Hi...

I should be in bed, but really? Should doesn't have a whole lot of meaning when you're on holidays. *grins* I'm playing. I'm visiting my old love [art of the mix] and I found a crazy mix with a cat theme. ^_^ So I'm going to share a few of the crazy songs...

The Format - Does Your Cat Have A Moustache?

A song with cats and facial hair. :P

Carl Perkins - Put Your Cat Clothes On

This is rockabilly? :D Fun. Pity he sounds a little like Elvis (shudder) but I have to laugh. What other rockabilly is out there? haha It has potential......

But the music stops here, since I'm off to bed.
Bon nuit..

My computer is crashing

The USB ports on my computer are no longer detecting external devices. This means no printer, no flash drives, no scanner, no mp3 player etc. If fiddling with drivers doesn't help, I think we'll call in the big guns - reformatting.

I've been wanting to do it for a while... I'm hoping it solves the problem. If it doesn't... well, I'll have to get a professional to look at it and fork out money. Yuck.

I had such a lovely day. It was cruisy... I got a bit done, but mostly it was just relaxing. I made my way to church in the afternoon and played a bit of piano. I couldn't resist - we'd just been donated a baby grand. :) I have to say I'm incredibly rusty but I had my sheet music and once I played a bit my fingers remembered much more than I expected. It was so awesome. I'd forgotten the tune to some of my pieces but picking out the notes little by little revealed so many old memories. :) I wanted to play it all as I used to and got a little frustrated that I had to take it more slowly. I haven't played since I was around 18.

I used to give days a colour... some days would be grey, or yellow. But I'd not give today a colour. I'd give it a song... and this is today's song/mood.

Mirah - Exactly Where We're From

Kat introduced me to her music. I like it a lot. It's delicate without being predictable and dull. Her voice can be enchanting at times... I don't know what the deal is about the picture in the video, but no video means faster loading time which makes everyone happy. :)

The start of a music blog

Well, kit-tea.net is soon to expire and I will not be renewing my ownership of the name... but I'm not entirely ready to stop sharing music either. So I have this new home. I hope to continue exploring new music in the New Year and maybe return the favour to David - who brought me into the world of jazz - by pointing him in the direction of some good, more modern, music.

I did a lot of musical hunting in high school but I have become quite stale. I don't have new bands in my repertoire these days... it's just new albums from current favourites. I think that's something that can change. I know there is good music out there... it's just a matter of hunting it down. :)

Last.fm is going to come in handy (I'm found here) but I'll also be making other rounds...

Well, I'm off! Merry Christmas to you and I'll see what I'll have for you leading up to and in the new year. :)
